An award winning outdoor and adventure blogger, I have an insatiable desire to be in the mountains or near the sea.

I work in marketing for a sailing company, and am indoors most of the day, but I’ve always been outdoors as often as I can. Starting with family walks on Dartmoor as a child and on to completing the Ten Tors challenge as a teenage Sea Cadet, I’m now working towards my Mountain Leader Qual. I have always been happier in the outdoors and love making the most of the adventure possibilities we have available to us. I sail, ski, climb, cycle, run, walk, paddle and row whenever I get the chance!

This year I’m fortunate to have been reselected as an Ordnance Survey GetOutside Champion and am really enjoying sharing my love for our beautiful hills, mountains and coastline with everyone I meet. I also volunteer at my local Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Open Centre in my spare time, because I think giving back is important, and without having completed my Silver DofE Award, I would either be far less outdoorsy, or lost in the hills a lot more!

Of course, my main loves are the mountains and, after a childhood spent playing with skipping ropes on the stairs, my dream of climbing the ‘Matterhorn’ by 30 is looming ever closer and I’m aiming to achieve this before the end of 2019, as part of my #30Years30Mountains challenge.

I drink too much tea, have been on Mastermind (specialist subject Horatio Nelson) and can sometimes be found giving naval history or adventure talks to cadet units, organisations and schools.
