We’re at that time of year where the weather is incredibly changeable, going from rain to glorious sunshine and from gales to snow and so getting your layering and kit choices right can be a minefield of unpredictability! Trespass recently got in touch and asked me to review one of their jackets, and so I chose the Arabel Women’s Packaway Hooded Down Jacket, thinking it combined everything I was looking for in a jacket in this weather. Warmth, weight and also style. Of course, it’s in navy blue!
This jacket has been through it all in the name of review and has surpassed itself every time.
It’s warm, comfortable, the sleeves are actually long enough and it’s long enough in the body that it doesn’t ride up all the time. There are a decent amount of pockets (two zipped lower pockets and one on the chest as well) and, as the name suggests, it packs away into a very small pouch! Handy for space saving on trips!
I took it on a lovely walk from Trevaunance to Chapel Porth along the coast path, past the famous Wheal Coates Tin Mine, and it kept me warm, dry and cosy. It isn’t waterproof, but held up well in a quick shower, which is always a bonus.
This jacket is great value for money, incredibly warm and whilst I wouldnt necessarily wear it for more technical adventures, it’s great for a wander on a blustery coast path and stood up well to the weather thrown at it. It’s currently on saleand reduces from £119.99 to just £44.99 and if tha’s not the outdoor bargain of the year, I don’t know what is!
* Jacket gifted but as ever my own honest opinion
